"I was in FOOD HEAVEN tonight!! First class dinner! The grilled goat's cheese starter was absolutely delicious, followed by a gorgeous, delicate piece of baked hake in a parsley butter sauce! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals! The service was impeccable and the staff so warm, friendly and welcoming! The restaurant was warm and cosy and so pretty with all the twinkling fairy lights! Would highly recommend a visit and will definitely come again when next up from Kent!! Thanks to everyone who made us feel so welcome!"

"An exceptional place. The food and service were excellent. Something beyond their control, I was with someone who is hard of hearing (with hearing aids) and the stone floors, low ceilings, wooden chairs and general chatter of people having a good time made it very, very difficult for the person to hear those around him. Just something to be aware of if you are hard of hearing and really nothing the restaurant can do. Still it was excellent."

"We went to Shakesbys in between lockdowns last year and the whole meal was absolutely delicious, we plan to go back again very soon. The lemon and pistachio roulade was the best dessert I’ve ever had, I even ordered another slice to takeaway so I could give it to my Mum who was baby sitting. Highly recommend the pork belly as well!"
